Abstract

Smart meter is an electronic device that measure the electricity consumption by different time of intervals, time may be in minutes, hours, days, and months. Furthermore, communicate that information at least back to Electric Power Supply Company for billing and energy monitoring purpose. The GSM Based on Demand Smart Power Load Management Service Module is system which have features to impose the power load allocation firmed by the Pakistan’s NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority) on domestic, commercial and industrial consumer. The designed system introduced various features to regulate electricity theft and power over-consumption by several consumers. In addition, the module has provision of on demand electric power load facility from the electric power supply company by just sending request SMS.in this research paper, a laboratory based on demand prototype smart module has been developed on micro level and investigated the power consumption according to NEPRA allocation and also checked the frequency of, standard energy consumption, power over-consumption and consumers request for additional power allocation.
