Abstract
|
Various controls systems have been developed for the DC motor speed control. The proportional integral & derivative (PID) control has been the most common control technique so far and is universally accepted as best industrial control. The main problem with PID controllers is that they can better perform in linear systems however produces variable output in the case of nonlinear systems. Another control strategy is Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) which has an edge over conventional PID controller due to improved transient and steady state performance. In this paper, a fuzzy based PID control scheme with few rules is proposed to improve and optimize the performance to obtain a robust speed control of Permanent Magnet DC motor.
