Abstract |
This paper proposes a novel scheme to support communication teams in emergency and disaster situations. First, the multicast ad hoc on-demand vector (MAODV) routing protocol is modified to integrate a wireless MANET into a Satellite network. The modified routing protocol is called satellite MAODV (SAT-MAODV). Second, we implemented a reactive approach for internet gateway discovery in a multicast environment based on the proposed SAT-MAODV routing protocol. Third, we compared a reactive gateway discovery approach with the previous similar solutions proposed in the literature the positive results show a considerable improvement in average throughput, packet delivery ratio, and end-to-end delay. |
