Abstract

Fourth Generation Wireless Networks (FGWN) consists of heterogeneous networks managed by different operators (or service providers). The provision of continuous services for mobile nodes is a main issue for the FGWN, Thus, it is necessary to provide seamless handover while moving in such environment. Moreover, the establishment of trust relationships between FGWN¡¯s entities poses a major challenge. In this regard, exchanging trust information between networks and mobile nodes is an important factor which guarantees a trusted handoff decision. In this paper, we will present a Trusted Distributed Vertical Handoff Decision (T-DVHD) scheme, which provides trusted and seamless vertical handover. The simulation outputs show good performance of the T-DVHD in term of handoff delay, blocking rate and throughput.
