Abstract

The ubiquitous sensor network (USN) is having a lot of attention as a method for realizing a ubiquitous society. It collects valuable information to realize a variety of functions, through a countless number of compact and resource constraint wireless nodes. These constraints makes infeasible to use the traditional security techniques, such as public key cryptography and key distribution center to USN. Security services must evolve for this network and new technologies must be developed to meet these challenges. In this paper, we propose a hybrid approach to key predistribution by uniting the Probabilistic Randomness concept on the basis of Grid Based Scheme. Our hybrid scheme not only provides substantial improvement in resiliency but also ensures high probability and efficiency in establishing pairwise key between nodes. Security analysis shows the effectiveness of our scheme in terms of resiliency improvement with little additional overheads in memory and communication.
