Abstract

Digital networks carry much more traffic and provide better reception and security than analog networks. Newer wireless devices connect to the Internet using frequency ranges the support higher information rates. Images are in many cases degraded even before they are encoded. There is an increasing need and interest to know how to let the images transmitted in wireless fading channels keep their fidelities in mobile and ubiquitous computing, such as ad hoc networks. In this paper our previous discussions are carefully, together with our earlier scrutinizing behaviors of wireless networks, extended to a wavelet-based maximum likelihood for Bayesian estimator that recovers the signal component of the wavelet coefficients in original images from images contaminated by multi-noise. As an example, a color image is processed and presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this method.
